Expatriation, international mobility, tourism, business trips...

Largest country in the world in terms of population (40% of the world’s population) and third-largest in terms of total area (nearly 9.5 million square kilometres), the People's Republic of China is a state of Eastern Asia that has arisen as the world’s new superpower.

China, a very charming country with fascinating civilisation, culture and customs, has become the 4th largest tourist destination in the world (USD 10.25 billion revenues were generated in 2007 by foreign tourists, only!) and is a dream destination for a growing number of foreigners.

China is, by the way, the second most popular destination for French expatriates in Asia!

Enjoying China

China is famous for its rich culture and numerous tourist sites (27 UNESCO world heritage sites). The domestic tourism market is by the way, very developed in China. Enjoy visiting the country. When you go to Beijing, you should not miss the Great Green Wall which is the most visited site there. Neither should you miss the Temple of Heaven where one can see tai chi and dance performances, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Ghost Street, the Houhai area...

In Xian, indulge and visit of the Stele Forest, and the Xian Beilin Museum - the museum hosting the Qin Terra Cotta Warriors Army. When back to Shanghai, take a walk on the Nanjing pedestrian street and the bund. Finally, nature lovers should definitely take a stroll across the magnificent Suzhou gardens designed in the 6th century BC, under the Ming and Qing dynasties.
